Lukas Pieroth completed his Bachelor (B.Sc.) as well as his Master (M.Sc.) at the University of Heidelberg. His bachelor thesis entitled "Topology of Disgust. A Body Phenomenological and Hermeneutical Investigation" deals with the phenomenon of disgust from a phenomenological perspective and draws proto-sociological and socio-geographical conclusions from the study of "disgust". In his master thesis he remained faithful to phenomenology; however, he supplemented it with decidedly philosophical anthropological (especially Plessnerian) thoughts. The title of the thesis is: "Jenseits postmoderner Geographien? Attempt and Reconstructive Contribution to a Controversy of Postmodern Geographies in the Philosophy of Science with Special Consideration of a Phenomenological-Anthropological Critique". The basic theoretical contribution confronts postmodern theoretical offers (structuralism, constructivism, pragmatism, language-oriented approaches) with insights from the phenomenological movement as well as philosophical anthropology. The goal of the paper is to advocate for a precise dialogue or controversy between paradigms and to advance social geographic theory work.
