In Namibia, im Südwesten Afrikas, hat mehr als die Hälfte der ländlichen Bevölkerung keinen Zugang zu Elektrizität. Es fehlt eine bedarfsgerechte Infrastruktur für die Energieversorgung. Diese Situation auf der Basis erneuerbarer Energien nachhaltig zu verbessern, ist das Ziel des Projekts PROCEED des Bayerischen Forschungsinstituts für Afrikastudien (BRIAS). In dem neuen Vorhaben kooperiert der Lehrstuhl für Sozial- und Bevölkerungsgeographie der Universität Bayreuth mit Partnern an der Technischen Hochschule Ingolstadt und der Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften Neu-Ulm. In Namibia, in the southwest of Africa, more than half of the rural population has no access to electricity. Critically, there is a lack of a demand-oriented infrastructure for energy supply. The PROCEED project of the Bavarian Research Institute for African Studies (BRIAS) aims to sustainably change this situation on the basis of renewable energies. In the new project, the Research Group of Social and Population Geography at the University of Bayreuth is cooperating with partners at the Ingolstadt University of Technology and the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences.
