PhD Position (65%) within research project PROCEED
We announce the opening of a PhD position (academic staff) with 65% of the regular weekly working time for a period of three years starting from 1. August 2019 at the University of Bayreuth. The remuneration is based on TV-L E13.
The PhD position within the interdisciplinary project PROCEED (Pathway to Renewa- ble Off-Grid Community Energy for Development) funded by the German Federal Min- istry of Education and Research (BMBF) is available for application. The BMBF is fund- ing the PROCEED project as part of the programme “Research for Sustainable Devel- opment (FONA)”, which includes the funding area “International Partnerships for Sus- tainable Innovation (CLIENT II)”. The Research Group of Social and Population Geog- raphy at the University of Bayreuth cooperates with partners at the Ingolstadt Univer- sity of Technology (sub-project “Mini-Grid-Technology”) and the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (sub-project “Mini-Grid Economics”).
As part of the sub-project “Mini-Grid Community”, the main task of the PhD project is to explore the sociocultural, sociotechnical and geographical conditions for increased electricity generation by means of hybrid mini-grids in three territorially remote regions of northern Namibia. ...more
